After reading Gears of my Childhood , I started to realize the importance of "laws of learning" that we may form from a very young age. I created a mini game named "Butterfly Catcher" in Scratch. This game evokes my childhood memory of catching butterflies. This was an important outdoor activity when I was a child - my friends and I always enjoyed staying in nature and caught the beautiful butterflies. We observed this amazing insect and then set them free. I believe that our first biology class was from the nature. Moreover, "Butterfly fly away" is one of my favorite song in Hannah Montana,   which is the first US TV series I have ever watched. I am more than glad to add those personal childhood experience in my mini game. For the process of creating this game, I set two costumes - one for the net and one for the butterfly. I wrote scripts for this two items respectively. Then I duplicated the butterflies and made them more. Every time

Here is my TurtleArt program, which named Sunrise at Sea. I was inspired by the picture blow. I have been to different seaside places to watch the sunrise, and was impressed by the beautiful scenery. Therefore, what in my mind for this program is to create such sunrise scenery - the floating blue ocean, seagulls and lovely sunshine. As for the process of creating this program, I tried to build three parts of the picture step by step. Firstly, I created the bottom - the ocean. And then followed by the sun and birds. In the end, I set up the background and connected three parts together. The program turned out to be what I expected.

For the first assignment, we are expected to pick at least one item from each of the following list, and combine them into an integrative art piece. As for me, I chose "dancing" from the actions list, "monkey" from the things list, and "color" "movement" from the response list. What came up in my mind was to create a digital gallery of myself when I saw these key words. I love painting and dancing, and I have drawn some colorful art pieces which shows dancing movement. In the meanwhile, I sewed a lovely monkey toy by myself. To make the project more engaging, I would like to let monkey Ted as the tour guide of my digital gallery. When you step into the gallery, you can choose one of your favorite painting on the wall, and our guide monkey Ted will tell you the story of that art piece. Here is a video sample of my project. Hope you can enjoy it!
